Jeanne Corey Marchand - RRCA-Certified Running Coach

Meet Jeanne Corey Marchand

An experienced RRCA-certified coach and accomplished marathoner, Jeanne has completed over 100 marathons, including 12 consecutive Boston Marathons and the prestigious Abbott World Marathon Majors. With a passion for running and coaching, she has been helping runners achieve their goals since 2009.

I am a runner. I never thought I’d say this, as I have never particularly "liked" running. In the past, I would take off as fast as I could, only to find myself huffing and puffing by the 2-mile mark. My fitness journey started in my teenage years when I began teaching aerobics fresh out of high school in the early 80s. Over the years, I dabbled in weight training and eventually turned to running in 2009 to shed weight I gained while working a part-time restaurant job at night to help with my daughter’s college expenses.

My first 5K was the Avon Road Race in 2009. I vividly remember running past cheering spectators, their encouragement fueling my steps. Crossing the finish line, my quads were on fire, and I collapsed from the effort. Yet, despite the exhaustion, I loved it. From that point on, I was hooked. Two stress fractures and 100 marathons later, I can confidently call myself a runner.

Fast forward to today, I am an RRCA-certified running coach with over a decade of experience helping runners of all levels reach their full potential. I take pride in the indelible mark I’ve left on the running community through my extensive experience and mentorship.

Recently, I achieved a remarkable milestone by completing my sixth Abbott World Marathon Major in Tokyo. Additionally, I’ve conquered the Boston Marathon an impressive 12 consecutive times. Beyond my personal achievements, I’ve dedicated myself to coaching and empowering others. For over a decade, I’ve served as the head coach for Fleet Feet’s marathon program, guiding countless runners on their journeys. Watching women I’ve coached progress from their first 5K to completing their first Ironman has been nothing short of incredible. Witnessing their growth—not only in running ability but in self-confidence—is immensely rewarding.

I started this blog with a goal: to inspire runners to take their first steps, whether toward their first marathon or simply starting their running journey. I want to share the joy and euphoria I experience with each marathon. They aren’t always perfect, but even the tough races offer valuable "lessons learned" that I hope to pass on.

Keep running, never give up, and remember—we are all machines!
